Criticism Is Not The Same As Censorship [on UC Santa Cruz “City on a Hill Press” article]

Cinnamon Stillwell brings up a very important point in her recent posting on Campus Watch. She reminds us that criticism is not the same as censorship. Given that so many anti-Israel groups and individuals on campus are crying censorship, when most of their examples are more appropriately labelled criticism of offensive and inaccurate views, Anti-Racist Blog is left with an important question. Are these anti-Israel individuals and groups using an incorrect label out of ignorance and unfamiliarity with principles of discourse, or are they using the term “censorship” as a weapon to avoid real discussions and to hide the weakness (and sometimes racism) of their arguments?
