Following a blog post written by professor emeritus and U.N's Human Rights Council special rapporteur for the Palestinians Richard Falk about the Boston Marathon bombing, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice wrote on Twitter that she was "outraged" by his "highly offensive" comments.
"Someone who spews such vitriol has no place at the U.N.," Rice wrote in her tweet. "Past time for him to go."
Falk wrote in his personal blog on that the U.S should be surprised not to have suffered worse attacks than the Boston incidents two weeks ago considering its history of imperial oppression.
"The United States has been fortunate not to experience worse blowbacks, and these may yet happen, especially if there is no disposition to rethink U.S. relations to others in the world, starting with the Middle East," Falk wrote. "We should be asking ourselves at this moment, 'How many canaries will have to die before we awaken from our geopolitical fantasy of global domination?' "
