Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy
The TiZA charter school threatens to sue for defamation.
The State Education Department has rejected nonprofit MET, which has ties to TiZA, because of its “sectarian nature and mission.”
Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy claims the ACLU, in suing the school for allegedly promoting religion, defamed the school.
The state says Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy has improperly licensed teachers. The school says it didn’t get documents it needs to respond.
