This afternoon, in Paris, thousands of feminist Muslims are taking to the streets to protest against the burqa and hijab.
Headed by the collective Femmes sans voile, they have decided to establish a World Day against the veil, which already exists in Canada.
These French “extremists” openly declare they are ready for anything because they consider the veil to be the quintessential symbol of sexism and discrimination.
The item of clothing, they believe, is distorted by the mass media to give an incorrect and stereotypical image of Muslim women.
It’s worth pointing out that this battle divides Islamic women.
In fact many of them claim, with pride, that it’s their right to cover their faces.
