A Leicester Muslim charity’sChristmas message of peace video - featuring a woman and her daughter singing Silent Night - has gone viral on the internet.
New Horizons in British Islam released the three-minute festive film earlier this week on its Facebook page.
It has already been viewed more than 33,000 times and shared by 716 people.
The charity said it decided to put out the film to demonstrate to people that Muslims do enjoy Christmas and many families celebrate just like everybody else.
A charity spokesman said: “It’s the message of peace which seems to have most resonated with viewers, particularly after the shocking events in Berlin, Switzerland and Syria over the last week.”
He added: “With the world in such chaos, our heartfelt wish is for peace, calm and love to prevail.”
The song was performed by Manchester-based singer Sarah Yaseen and her teenage daughter Iqra.
They recorded the film at Quad Studios, off St Margaret’s Way, in Leicester.
