Parents whose children attend Derby’s controversial Muslim free school were called to a meeting tonight following the announcement that the Government is investigating the way it is run.
The Derby Telegraph understands that parents were invited to Al-Madinah School’s Nelson Street site by the governing body.
Earlier this week the Telegraph revealed that the school was being investigated by the Department for Education and the Education Funding Agency after an inspection by the Office for Standards in Education raised concerns.
And the school made headlines over non-Muslim female staff were being forced to wear hijabs – an Islamic head scarf – and girl and boy pupils being segregated within the same classes.
