‘Honour’ fire gang guilty of murder

Four men who killed an innocent couple by firebombing the wrong house in a botched “honour” attack were convicted of murder yesterday.

Abdullah Mohammed, 41, and his wife Ayesha, 39, died after petrol was poured through their letterbox and set on fire.

Two of their children, aged nine and 14, were trapped but survived.

Hisamuddin Ibrahim, 21, organised the attack on a man having an affair with his married sister.

But the intended target lived 20 houses away from Mr and Mrs Mohammed’s home in Blackburn, Lancs.

Ibrahim, Habid Iqbal, 25, Mohammed Miah, 19, and Sadek Miah, 23, all from London, denied murder last October.

But the jury at Preston Crown Court took just 90 minutes to convict them.

They are due to be sentenced today.
