Bosnian refugee in Sweden: “What I fled from in 1992 has now arrived here.”

In 2011, Malmö had 13 bomb explosions in just six months. In the first five months of 2014, the Muslim-dominated city had five hand grenade explosions alone — on top of other kinds of bombs. Via 10news.dk, translated by Nicolai Sennels from Sydsvenskan:

From the balcony she looks down on the blast damaged cars on the street below. On cars and the front of the house are hundreds of shrapnel pieces from the grenade. It’s only a few hours after the blast and Raza Arnaut is trying to cope with the explosion.

“I have lived here for more than seventeen years and it is a really nice apartment. But now I will not live here any longer, I want to move,” she says. …

“It was a big loud bang. It was the same as during the war in Bosnia. What I fled from in 1992, has now arrived here.”

Another of the residents tells how she was woken up by the explosion. … Time and again, she called the police when she saw people engaged in drug trafficking.

“They have been here a couple of times. But I might have called twenty times. I’ll call and tell them to come now. But nothing happens. Why?”

She has not slept since the explosion at three o’clock this night.

“I’m so tired of it. It’s a beautiful summer day and I want to enjoy life. But instead I was woken up by an explosion.”
