Ahmadiyya Muslim spiritual leader condemns anti-Islam video

The fifth spiritual leader Khalifa of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is urging members to pray for peace, and demonstrate the true example of non-violent forbearance of the Holy Prophet in the face of abuse.

In light of the sporadic violence and angry protests by Muslims over the anti-Islam YouTube video “Innocence of Muslims,” the leader of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, has delivered two consecutive sermons condemning.

Both sermons were delivered at the Community’s Baitul Futuh Mosque in London and were telecast live via satellite to the Community’s members in more than 200 countries.

The first sermon was given Sept. 21, detailing the correct response from Muslims to the insulting video defaming Islam and the Holy Prophet. The second sermon was given Sept. 28 and continued the theme of a true Muslim’s proper response to the anti-Islam video, with the added recommendation by His Holiness that members read and promote the reading of the biography of the Holy Prophet titled “Life of Muhammad.”

In the Sept. 21 sermon Khalifa condemned the video, but - unlike some spiritual or political leaders in the Muslim world - he did not call for protests and murderous attacks against American embassies or citizens.

Instead, the spiritual leader counseled his followers to show the world the real, peaceful teachings of Islam and demonstrate the true character and behavior of the Holy Prophet Muhammad by not responding with hatred and violence.
