Iran does not want to resume ambassadorial talks about security in Iraq, according to the New York Times. The Bush Administrtion held three rounds of these talks with the Iranian Ambassador in Iraq, among the 28 rounds of talks Bush diplomats held with Iran.
“On a visit to Iraq on Wednesday, Iran’s foreign minister ruled out holding new security talks with the United States and Iraq, saying improved security made them unnecessary....The United States has held three rounds of talks on security with Iraq and its neighbors, including Iran.”
