October 30, 2006 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - CBS seems to be intent upon pushing the Bush administration into partnering with the fanatical Islamist organization the Muslim Brotherhood, while specifically protesting Kamal Helbawy’s [the UK’s leader of the Muslim Brotherhood and the founder of the Muslim Association of Britain] having recently been denied entrance into the United States.
This all takes place in an op-ed on the CBS website authored by Stephen Glain originally writing for the notoriously lefty “The Nation” magazine.
As CBS sees it [The] WH [Is] On [The] Wrong Side Of [The] Muslim Brotherhood.
In this piece, going so far as to claim that the:
CBS seems calculatedly oblivious to the history of the Brotherhood, overlooking the fact that its early champion - Sayyid Qutb - established [from the inside of an Egyptian jail] the intellectual positions which today fuel the modern radical Islamist movement including al-Qaeda.
While making the lunatic assertion that:
One might ask CBS under what definition of centrism was the assassination of Anwar Sadat by the Brotherhood justified?
They might also want to explain why they are advocating entry into the United States by the representative of a group which inspired bin-Laden and hatched both Ayman al-Zawahiri - chief theorist of al-Qaeda - as well as the “Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdel Rahman - the key figure [and currently serving a life term, thank you very much] in the first World Trade Center bombing.
A bit of research - Mary Mapes to the white courtesy phone please - might have demonstrated that the Brotherhood’s charter clearly states that its purpose is to establish an Islamic empire - a worldwide Caliphate - by whatever means possible.
Terror researcher Steven Emerson attended a conference of the Muslim Arab Youth Association in December 1992 and chronicles the following from Helbawy:
O’Brothers, the Palestinian cause is not a conflict of borders and land only. It is not even a conflict over human ideology and not over peace. Rather, it is an absolute clash of civilizations, between truth and falsehood. Between two conducts - one satanic, headed by Jews and their co-conspirators - and the other is religious, carried by Hamas, and the Islamic movement in particular and the Islamic people in general who are behind it.
Lastly I am going to say something about Imam Hassan al-Banna [a Wahabbi Sunni Muslim and the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood] peace be upon him, who had been trying to establish 70,000 fighters. And he started with the first battalion with 10,000 fighters and today the Palestinians became strong fighting battalions, let us stand and support this great nation and the future is for Islam and I ask God’s forgiveness for you and for me and the Muslims. We ask God to give victory to our brothers and we ask God to release the leader of the Intifada, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, praise be upon him.”
