Jewish Group Asks Dept of Ed to Investigate Classroom Incident [incl. Rabab Abdulhadi]

The U.S. Department of Education has agreed to investigate a complaint alleging a California university violated Title VI by failing to protect its Jewish students from discrimination.

Invited to speak on “Islamophobia” last May at UCLA, San Francisco State University Professor Rabab Abdulhadi told students Israel is a racist nation and reportedly accused Israelis of supporting ethnic cleansing.

He also said supporting Israel is tantamount to supporting “white supremacy” in the “Constructing Race” class taught by another leftist, Kyeyoung Park, who had invited Abdulhadi.

When a Jewish student named Shayna Lavi raised objections, Abdulhadi allegedly verbally assaulted her.

Carly Gammill of Israel advocacy group Stand With Us says Abdulhadi and Lavi had a “fairly heated exchange” that left the student in tears.

According to Campus Reform, both professors allegedly “harassed” the Jewish student, who went to university officials over the incident.

Part of the complaint filed by StandWithUs and Lavi claims UCLA has taken almost no action to resolve this anti-Semitic incident.

“The administration was put on notice of these things, and given the opportunity to take corrective action, and repeatedly failed,” Gammill claims.

Gammill says she would like to see UCLA and other schools treat anti-Semitism equally as other forms of discrimination, which currently is not the case.
