WHAT A COUNTRY!

A report from the marketplace of ideas:

The American Civil Liberties Union is suing the state of Minnesota and sponsors of the Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy, a K-8 charter school with connections to Islam, outed last year by a conservative newspaper columnist but defended this year by a school reformer who described himself in the newspaper as “an American Jew who strongly believes in the separation of church and state.”

Or, put another way:

Liberal libertarian ACLU sues culturally conservative school that’s a product of liberalizing reforms that have potential for religious incursion and create concern among liberals and conservatives but draw support from a prominent liberal conservative (or is he a conservative liberal?).

What a tangle! What a country!
