Ibn Warraq is the nom de guerre of an author and critic of Islam who adopted the name out of concern for his safety. He is the author of fifteen books, beginning with Why I Am Not a Muslim in 1995. His other works include What the Koran Really Says, Defending the West: A Critique of Edward Said’s Orientalism, Why the West Is Best, and The Islam in Islamic Terrorism. His most recent book is Churchill’s Secular Creed: Empire, Zionism, and Islam’s Complicity in the Holocaust. His work focuses on Islam, Western civilization, free inquiry, and the intellectual and political relationship between the Islamic world and the West.
