Daniel Pipes, Middle East Forum Founder and Chairman, will take stock of a Middle East in flux. He will begin with the region’s most volatile hotspots: Gaza, where the open question is whether Hamas will be defeated or allowed to rebuild, and Iran, where an unpopular regime faces growing pressure at home and abroad. He will then turn to Europe, where growing Muslim populations, assertive Islamist institutions, and a rising civilizationist backlash are reshaping politics from Paris to Berlin to London, with consequences that reach across the Atlantic. Pipes will close with his reflections on the Trump administration’s Middle East policies: where they have advanced American interests, where they fall short, and what they suggest about the year ahead. Throughout, he will draw on five decades of studying the region to separate lasting trends from passing headlines.
