Islamic car insurance provider now on moneysupermarket.com

Moneysupermarket.com now includes a Shariah-compliant, an Islamic car insurance provider, Salaam Halal.

For the first time both Muslims and non-Muslims will have the opprtunity to compare prices of Halal insurance with conventional car insurance on an insurance comparison website.

Chief Executive of Salaam Halal insurance, Bradley Brandon Cross, said

‘Prior to the launch of Salaam Halal insurance in July 2008 there were no alternatives to conventional insurance, which conflict with the core beliefs of the Muslim faith.

We do, however, understand that it is crucial that we offer competitive prices. The exclusive launch of Salaam Halal insurance on Moneysupermarket.com forms an important part of our business strategy and will mean that potential customers can be sure they are getting the best of both worlds - a good deal on insurance which is in harmony with the Muslim faith.’

Halal insurance, or Takaful as it also known as, is based on mutual cooperation and does not permit investment in non-ethical industries e.g. alcohol and tobacco.

It is therefore quite likely that as well as being of interest to Muslims, Halal insurance will also be of interest to those people who are interested in ethical or co-operative products.

Both conventional car insurance and Halal insurance seek to price products competitively. There has been a concern that Islamic insurance may be more expensive than conventional car insurance. By comparing the Shariah-compliant car insurance alongside over 60 conventional products its competitiveness, or otherwise, will be clearly seen.

Salaam Halal insurance are focusing on selected post code regions and as such their prices will be displayed to consumers seeking car insurance quotes only from those regions.

Those not able to compare the Salaam Halal car insurance quote on Moneysupermarket can still get a quote by contacting Salaam Insurance direct.
