Australians overwhelmingly support banning the burqa according to the latest exclusive Sky News/ReachTEL poll.
Over 50 per cent of respondents approved or strongly approved of banning the Islamic garment.
According to the data, 43.6 per cent of respondents said they 'strongly support' the ban while 12.7 per cent approve of it.
Only 12.3 per cent and 18.9 cent of respondents disapproved or strongly disapproved of banning the burqa, while 12.5 per cent are undecided.
The topic has risen to the forefront of political debate after One Nation leader Pauline Hanson wore a burqa in parliament last week.
