The Democratic National Committee's executive committee is expected to pass a resolution Saturday condemning "the anti-Muslim rhetoric of the 2016 presidential campaign," a Democratic strategist told CNN.
"The rhetoric from across the Republican field of 2016 presidential candidates has incited disturbing levels of fear mongering and demagoguery against racial, ethnic, and religious minority communities," the resolution reads.
Republican front-runner Donald Trump has proposed banning Muslims from entering the U.S. Many Republican leaders have pushed back on the proposal, but several 2016 candidates and party leaders have mentioned other proposals to limit or block Syrian refugees from entering the U.S.
