Police in the West Midlands are investigating Rotherham-style child abuse cases, the region's top cop has revealed.

Chief constable Chris Sims told a meeting he was "aware of at least one example" in the region and added: "We know of this as an issue here in the West Midlands".

The disclosure came after new crime commissioner David Jamieson said he had asked "searching questions" of officers in the wake of the child abuse scandal in the South Yorkshire town.
