In his 10-minute interview on conservative talk radio show "Voice of Freedom," Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Tyler, spoke against gun control and continued his strong advocation for the second amendment. True to his reputation, Gohmert didn't hold any of his opinions back. When asked about the "end game" of those who are against firearms, Gohmert said:
"It is for our protection and the founders' quotes make that very, very clear and including against a government that would run amok. You know, we've got some people that think Sharia Law ought to be the law of the land, forget the Constitution. But the guns are there, that Second Amendment is there, to make sure all of the rest of the amendments are followed."
Linking the Muslim code of ethics, or Sharia Law, with gun control has landed Gohmert in hot water with some liberals.
