Kim Crockett visited St. Cloud on Monday to gauge the pulse of the community, which has seen its share of controversy and clashes due to the influx of refugees in recent years.
Crockett also shared information about refugee resettlement, a topic she studies at the Center of the American Experiment. Crockett is vice president and senior policy fellow at the organization, which is a well-known conservative-leaning think tank based in Golden Valley.
The event, rescheduled from early March when it was postponed due to a snowstorm, was organized after an area resident asked Crockett to come to St. Cloud, she said.
Crockett spoke to the St. Cloud Times on Monday afternoon, then presented to a group of about 30 people at a ticketed event at Olde Brick House in downtown St. Cloud. After the presentation, attendees asked questions and shared concerns about refugees in St. Cloud.
