An exact date for the hate speech trial against PVV leader Geert Wilders has not been set yet, but it will start in 2016 at the earliest. Wilders is facing charges of insulting a group of people based on race and inciting discrimination and hatred.
A spokesperson for the court in The Hague confirmed this to broadcaster NOS. According to the court, there is no delay. But this is a special case and needs lots of time to complete the preliminary investigations. A pre-trial review will be held in October. A similar review was held in May, during which the Public Prosecutor told Wilders' lawyer to hurry up with the filing of all investigation requests.
