Next week, Muslims from all over the world gather in Mecca for the annual pilgrimage called the Hajj. Some 4000 Swedes are expected to travel there this year, to take part in the rituals. According to the Swedish Muslim council the number of travel agencies that arrange the trips from Sweden have increased significantly over the past few years.
Hajj is the journey that every able-bodied adult Muslim is expected to take at least once in their lives if they can afford it. From Sweden, it will cost you between 3,600 and 5,800 US dollars depending on the standard of the hotel room you choose, the news agency TT reports.
