Report: First Islamic University To Open In U.S.

Rohama.org reports that the first Islamic university in the U.S is soon to be established next to “Berkley University in California.”

According to the report, “the plan for establishing the Islamic university has been approved thanks to the great efforts by Reza Aslan, who is a university professor in the U.S.”

“The U.S. educational authority’s objective to create the Islamic university is reportedly to introduce Islam to American citizens and promote peace, coexistence and security in society,” the website added.

The university is to open by the second academic semester of 2011, and no information has been made public yet about the sponsors of the university, the report said.
