A Muslim college professor suspended a Christian student for objecting to her assertion that Jesus was not crucified, and that the disciples did not believe that he was God.
According to The College Fix, Areej Zufari, Middle Eastern Humanities professor at Rollins College Florida, suspended sophomore student Marshall Polston for disputing her incredible claims.
In an interview with the Central Florida Post, Polston said, "Honestly, it reminded me of some of the more radical groups I researched when abroad. Whether religious or not, I believe even those with limited knowledge of Christianity can agree that according to the text, Jesus was crucified and his followers did believe he was divine... that he was 'God.'"
For expressing his Christian views, the straight A student received a 52% grade on his essay and the Islamic prof would not even give him an explanation. Instead, what he got was a suspension.
Polston remarked: "I was upset, understandably. I've never gotten anything less than straight A's, so I was really interested in figuring out how to possibly improve or at least understand the grade."
He continued to attend Zufari's classes, until in one discussion, the topic of Sharia law was brought up by the professor. A male Muslim student proposed that thieves, gays, and adulterers should suffer amputations or even decapitation. Polston and several other students objected and thought their radical Islamist classmate should be reported to authorities. Zufari refused to take any action and laughed the matter off.
What the professor did was report Polston to the college's "Dean of Safety", claiming the student made her feel "unsafe."
In the end, Rollins suspended Polston and ordered him not to approach Zufari . However, things did not stop there because the professor made a false police report stating that Polston attended one of her classes and threatened her. A receipt from a restaurant in Orlando and cctv footage provided proof that Zufari was lying.
Rollins College had already displayed its bias beforehand, when it kicked out a Christian student organization for requiring members to be Christian, and maintaining a conservative stance. These characteristics, according to the school, violated Rollins' anti-discrimination policy.
Both Zufari and Rollins College have refused to respond to media queries.
