Two Jewish community groups will host a presentation on hate crimes and how they affect Jews today at the Avon Free Public Library.
The presentation, called "Cross Cultural Conversations: Hate Crimes Around the World and Their Impact on the Jewish Community," will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The Jewish Community Relations Council and the Chai Center, a Jewish community organization in Avon, are hosting the event, which is free and open to the public.
A Connecticut FBI agent is expected to attend. Also invited is Ingrid Mattson, president of the Islamic Society of North America, a group that promotes interfaith understanding and cooperation.
