Conference Call Invitation

Academics Who Whitewash Islamism

Tuesday, November 20, 2018
4:00 - 4:30 p.m. EST

Dear MEF Board Members and Friends:

Professors in U.S. Middle East Studies departments are pressuring and intimidating students on campus, stymieing free thinking, and indoctrinating students with anti-Western and pro-Islamist ideas. For example, Georgetown University’s al-Waleed Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding in Washington, D.C., with its heavy Saudi funding, serves as an Islamist propaganda arm. What can be done to contain this professional misconduct? How can universities be held accountable?

Myers-Headshot.pngFor informed answers, please join the Middle East Forum’s conference call from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. EST on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, featuring Winfield Myers, director of Middle East Forum’s Campus Watch (CW).  Mr. Myers critiques Middle East studies and the way the region is taught in American higher education.  He has taught world history and other topics at the universities of Michigan, Georgia, and at Tulane University.  He was previously managing editor of the American Enterprise magazine and CEO of Democracy Project, Inc., which he co-founded.  Mr. Myers has served as senior editor and communications director of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute and is principal author and editor of a college guide, Choosing the Right College (1998, 2001) with an introduction by William J. Bennett.  He has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, The Weekly Standard, and the Washington Times, among other publications.

As usual, the conference call will begin with a 10-minute overview, followed by a 15-minute question and answer period.

Please RSVP below, via email (Prosser@MEForum.org) or by phone (215) 546-5406, ext 107. We will notify you via email of the telephone number to participate.
