Biography of Sam Nunberg

Sam Nunberg is Director of the Legal Project, which works to protect researchers and analysts who work on the topics of terrorism, terrorist funding, and radical Islam from lawsuits designed to silence their exercise of free speech.

Mr. Nunberg previously served as Deputy Director of Government Affairs for the American Center for Law and Justice as well as a Delegate to the U.N. for the European Centre for Law and Justice in Manhattan, New York. In that capacity he worked on legal and policy measures concerning the State of Israel, the ICC, promoting sanctions against Iran, international human rights and First Amendment jurisprudence.

Mr. Nunberg played a significant role in opposing the construction of the Ground Zero Mosque both at the New York City Landmark Commission hearing and subsequent legal action. He also advocated against both the ICC Prosecutor's consideration of the Palestinian National Authority's attempt to transfer jurisdiction to the ICC under the Rome Statute and the legal conclusions of the UNHRC's Goldstone Report. Mr. Nunberg has also advocated on behalf of the European Centre for Law and Justice in opposition to the OIC's 'Defamation of Religion' resolutions in both the 64th and 65th UN General Assembly Sessions where the votes in favor declined in each session.

Mr. Nunberg has a B.A. from McGill University and a J.D. from the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. Mr. Nunberg is admitted to practice before the District of Columbia and is awaiting admission to the bar of the State of New York. He is based in Manhattan, New York.
