Pressure on Obama to lift U.S. conditions for talking to Hamas coninues to grow, including a group of former peace negotiators. The New York Times weighs in with a piece equating Hamas' rocket attacks with Israel's defensive responses. Netanyahu is worried, and will use today's meeting with Mitchell and next week's meeting with Clinton to urge the Obama Administration to resist the pressure.
Update: In the meeting, Mitchell stressed that the U.S. administration remains committed to the Quartet guidelines. "There is no change in our position, and will remain as such even if a Palestinian unity government is established," he said.
